gre test

HERE YOU'LL FIND four Mini Tests, covering the four basic quantitative skill areas that the GRE measures. All four tests contain Problem Solving and Quantitative Comparison questions.

SCORE YOURSELF: After taking each test, compute the number of questions you answered correctly. After completing all four tests, check your total against the Quantitative Score-Conversion Table.

NOTE: Everything you need (test directions, questions, answers/analysis) for each of the tests is on one Web page. So save the tests if you wish, then take the tests off-line; or print the tests and tackle the questions on paper.

  • GRE Arithmetic Test (10 questions, 17 minutes)
  • GRE Algebra Test (10 questions, 17 minutes)
  • GRE Geometry Test (10 questions, 17 minutes)

HERE YOU'LL FIND four GRE-style Verbal Mini-Tests, which cover the four basic Verbal skill areas that the GRE measures.

SCORE YOURSELF: After taking each Mini-Test, jot down the number of questions you answered correctly. After completing all four Mini-Tests, check your total against the Verbal score conversion table.

NOTE: Everything you need (including test directions, answers, and explanations) for a Mini-Test is included on the same Web page. So you can save the file if you wish, then test yourself off-line; or you can print the page and use pencil and paper to test yourself.

  • Sentence Completion Mini-Test (10 questions, 10 minutes)
  • Analogy Mini-Test (10 questions, 10 minutes)
  • Antonym Mini-Test (10 questions, 10 minutes)

  • Analytical Writing

HERE YOU CAN LINK TO a simulated topic (prompt) for each of the two GRE essay sections. The links take you to the online supplement for my book Writing Skills for the GRE and GMAT Tests.

After composing a response to each prompt, evaluate and score your response by referring to my Analytical Writing scorecard. You can also review some responses composed by your peers. These responses appear on the the same Web pages as the two essay prompts. Each peer response is scored and accompanied by my commentary.
